New Additions!
I went to the Austin East Succulents store again! I got three cuties: a String of Hearts, Euphorbia milii (of differing color from my current one), and a Kalanchoe blossfeldiana variegata!
Kalanchoe serrata
This plant was wonderful when I got it and quickly grew very tall. It dropped babies everywhere, and after a while I lost interest. After repotting the plants that were in the same container, I just decided to toss it out counting on a few babies surviving long enough to grow big like the mother plant. That's exactly what's happened in the first photo below.
A pint sized version of what the mother plant used to be like.

Kalanchoe blossfeldiana
This beautiful kalanchoe is an almost constant bloomer as well as a prolific glower! I had to severely prune it back when the plant became infested with mealy bugs, but it is coming back.
Here she is on the day I got her in 2013.
A closeup of her beautiful sparkling orange flowers.
22 February 2016 I purchased a different variety of blossfeldiana! This one is a variegated one with striking leaves of green, white, and pink!
It looks as though it will be just as prolific a bloomer as my other blossfeldiana. I am hopeful that maybe one day I can plant the two together for an interesting pot of multicolor flowers and foliage.

Kalanchoe tomentosa
I have two varieties of this plant. The regular brown tipped plant, and a variation called Chocolate Soldier, which is much darker.
Chocolate Soldier obtained 9/3/13

Kalanchoe luciae
I've had this plant for quite some time. It keeps growing taller and taller, so I decided to try my hand at beheading! This plant already had two babies growing at the base of the stem, so I have high hopes that I will get a couple new plants. I'm not sure how the head will do though! I had to pull off (more like rip off!) many leaves to get enough stem to plant.

New Succulent Nursery
I recently found a new nursery that specializes in succulents! Rusty wad my second visit and i picked out two cuties. One Kalanchoe "Pink Butterflies" and an Agave isthmensis.
The agave is my first. The guy at the nursery told me but plants do well in low light, and I read that the agave is supposed to stay very small. I'm pretty excited to see how they grows!

New Succulents
I've been feeling crummy for the last couple months, and also had to watch my spending. I'm finally feeling a bit of relief from both, so I went out and got myself a few new succulents!
The one on the left is a bulb! I didn't know succulents could be bulbs. How interesting is that?

New Acquisitions
In the last couple weeks I've impulse purchased a couple plants. The first one is Kalanchoe tomentosa 'Chocolate Soldier'. How can you not like this fuzzy little guy with such a strong name? He's just adorable. I've got the panda plant, which is identical except mostly green, and just had to have the Chocolate Soldier variety.
I also had to get Kalanchoe blosfeldiana 'Sarah'. It's the typical Kalanchoe you see sold everywhere, but I just love the bright red-orange blooms. It's such a delightful happy plant. I enjoy seeing it's prolific blooms when I wake up.
I recently obtained a few plants from my mom during my last visit. One of my very first plants was an Airplane Plant (Chlorophytum comosum 'Variegatum') which I named Fred. It was a baby of one of my mom's plants. I took him to college, he survived the terrible Rochester, New York winters, and even the super hot road trip back to Texas, but when I moved into my own apartment, he died from lack of sun, while he lived in the center of my apartment, because I was too lazy to buy hooks to hang my macrame outside! Anyway, my mom gave me another one, and this one is thriving in his new home.
She also gave me a couple Wandering Jew (Tradescantia zebrina) cuttings and a cutting of something I haven't identified. They're all three rooting in water until I can pot them up somewhere.
While my mom and I were talking about each other's plant situations, she mentioned how she was going to pretty much take on stalk of her Aeonium, and then toss the rest. I couldn't let her plants go to waste so I offered to take the mother plant home.
